Barcelona continued their brilliant start to the new season with yet another dominating performance, this time against Rayo Vallecano.
Raphinha notably scored a brace in a 5-2 win against Rayo, which also saw new signing Anthony Gordon deliver a masterful performance.
Another key highlight of Barcelona’s win over Rayo was the appearance of Hamza Abdelkarim, as he made his official debut for the club.
Hamza reacts after making Barcelona debut
Speaking to the press after the game, Hamza was delighted to have made his Barcelona debut and is hopeful of more appearances in the future.

“I’m delighted to have made their debut and I hope more will come,” said the young Egyptian (h/t Mundo Deportivo).
“There were a lot of people and I was excited to be able to get out. It was a very intense feeling. I want to feel it over and over again. I hope to help the team to the maximum and win everything,” he added.
Hamza also heaped praise on some of his teammates, including Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, who also scored a brace on the night.
“He is a fantastic person and we all know that he always gives one hundred percent anywhere on the field,” the teenager said about the Brazilian superstar.
Regarding Lamine, he added: “He is a player who has magic on his feet and who plays for the team and for the people.”
What’s next for Hamza Abdelkarim?

The appearance against Rayo is a positive outcome for Hamza Abdelkarim, who has been trained to become the ideal number nine for the club this season.
The youngster will have to patient with his opportunities, though, especially that Barcelona have also roped in Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal.
Abdelkarim, though, will largely have to compete with both Raphinha and Gabriel for a place in the starting eleven.
It won’t be an easy battle for the young Egyptian, but the player has shown immense quality and it won’t be surprising to see him earn more opportunities, as the grueling schedule forces Hansi Flick to rotate the squad more often.
