Bruno Fernandes Wins PFA Players’ Player of the Year for 2025/26


Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been crowned the PFA Players’ Player of the Year for the 2025/26 season.

The Portuguese midfielder has been rewarded for an exceptional campaign after playing a crucial role in Manchester United’s impressive season. Fernandes was recognised by his fellow professional footballers following a campaign in which he delivered outstanding numbers, registering nine goals and a Premier League-record 21 assists.

The Portuguese’s leadership proved vital for United throughout the season, with the midfielder consistently producing key moments in attack while also taking responsibility as captain.

The prestigious PFA award is voted for by professional players, making Fernandes’ achievement particularly significant.

The 31-year-old becomes only the second Portuguese player to win the award after Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo. This honour represents his first PFA Players’ Player of the Year award and adds another major individual accolade to his career.

The Manchester United captain’s achievement comes after a season in which he firmly established himself among the Premier League’s elite performers.
