Sandberg Phoenix is celebrating client NHC HealthCare Maryland Heights (“NHC Maryland Heights”) for receiving the most prestigious and esteemed award from the American Health Care Association (“AHCA”) / National Center for Assisted Living (“NCAL”).
On August 11, 2025, the AHCA/NCAL announced NHC Maryland Heights as one of three facilities nationwide selected to receive the coveted Gold – Excellence in Quality Award for 2025. The Gold Award recognizes long-term and post-acute care facilities that meet progressively rigorous standards of performance to further improve the lives of their residents. These facilities are amongst the best of the nation, and provide exceptional care for their residents through sustainable, systematic and effective practices. Clif Porter, president and CEO of AHCA/NCAL, praised these facilities for inspiring others to “reach higher, think bigger, and serve better” every day.
NHC Maryland Heights joins the ranks of 57 other facilities that have been honored with this recognition since 2004. The 220-bed skilled nursing facility achieves its mission of “caring in a better way – day by day,” by offering a welcoming, home like environment that continuously promotes person centered care, clinical experience, and a deep sense of community. The Gold Award was accepted by NHC Maryland Heights’ long time Administrator, Susan Taylor, at the AHCA/NCAL’s Convention and Expo held in Las Vegas, Nevada in October.
