Many of you are familiar with MBTI, and all of you could check what INFJ means pretty quick. I researched a lot and found Please Understand Me II to be the very best explanation of personalities on the market. But the test is for individuals, so why do I peg the label INFJ China on the whole country? Let me dig on this. I am not here saying who is better or worse.
First, look at how China relates to other countries and how it is affected. Look at some other countries
Japan is ISTJ.
USA is ESFP as I see it.
China s INFJ without perfectionist tendencies and turbulent
INFJ’s believe their home is their castle, and they may disappear within it and share very little. The Great Wall is a great symbol of this. No immigration is another sign. Look at how China responded to Western pressure in the 1800’s. Look at how Japan responded. Japan responded very rationally and looked in great detail at what the Westerners had done and even improved on the example. China sulked and played the victim. Because Japan studied Confucius they also have no immigration, but so different.
20 plus years ago, A US Navy submarine accidentally destroyed a Japanese fishing boat killing 9 Japanese people, mostly young students! The Americans took full responsibility, and the naval commander personally went to the families of the people killed and apologized. The US paid all expenses for this mistake. The parents naturally were deeply upset. However, everything was handled professionally and rationally by the Japanese government.
INFJ China Reacts
During the US bombing of Serbia 20 years ago, the US accidentally used a wrong map and mistakenly bombed the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade killing three Chinese reporters. I was in China then. The Chinese response was all emotion. Once again, the US promised to pay all expenses and accepted full responsibility. We apologized profusely. No use. The US could not overcome Chinese outrage. Chinese were convinced we did it purposely to shame the Chinese. No Japanese claimed the US destroyed their boat on purpose for example. The Chinese government bused students to the US embassy to stone it. Chinese rioters caused US$3M in damages to US property in China. See a picture of some of the protests above. China declared the 3 dead reporters as heroes of the nation. No part of the process was rational.
Naturally, Chinese people have all different kinds of personalities, but as a country they act quite INFJ. It is good to understand China more, so we can be more sensitive as it were. We are here as their guests as it were.
