Hi everyone,
The other day I told you that LAURA ROBB and I were working on final details to begin work on a new book. I am delighted to say that all is in place for us to get started. There is no poetry in this book. I’ll be researching and writing nonfiction sections, a distinct change of pace from recent efforts. This one will be written for grades 4-8, another change from what I’ve been doing lately. I look forward to the challenge.
To get us started, Laura sent me a list of potential subjects to consider. I have the luxury of choosing areas that interest me most. I often encourage teachers to provide their students with books on subjects they like and also to offer them opportunities to write about things they like. Now I’m enjoying the same privilege from Laura Robb, one of the best teachers, coaches, and authors on education in America today. Next week I’ll go over her list and move toward making my choices. Can’t wait!
