Children’s board book about “Bluey” character Bingo
My toddler is a huge “Bluey” fan, so when we went to a local bookshop last year and she saw this book, I couldn’t help myself. I apologise in advance for the many “Bluey” books that will be featured on this blog.
“All About Bingo” is a book by the creators of the Australian cartoon series “Bluey“. The book is all about Bluey’s younger sister, a Red Heeler called Bingo. The book features facts about Bingo and her personality.
This is a cute book that draws out some of the unique aspects of Bingo’s personality like the questions she likes to ask, the creative names she likes to call herself, the songs she likes to sing and her original approach to different problems. The book heavily references scenes from season 1 of the TV series, making it feel familiar to young readers who are fans of the show. My toddler certainly enjoys it, especially the page where Bingo sings to the walking leaf.
I think the important thing to note is that this book isn’t a recreation of an episode but rather just a collection of vignettes about Bingo so there is no real overarching story. I think this probably makes it a bit less engaging than other “Bluey” books.
