May was definitely looking up for me, even with the heatwave at the end of the month. I started a group reading challenge halfway through the month so my reading went all over the place, but I did get a lot of books I own read, and some were even from my physical TBR! This was also the month for Asian readathon so I was busy doing that challenge too.

Favourite Book of the Month
If I was counting rereads, The Empress of Salt and Fortune would definitely be here in this category. But as I try not to do that (if I’m rereading a book it’s very likely it’s already highly rated), I have to go with The Phantom of the Opera. It was a fun historical thriller written in the style of a true crime book and it’s definitely one I would read again.
Least Favourite Book of the Month
This was definitely a difficult choice because there were quite a few books I didn’t particularly enjoy this month. There were some that were boring (Breaking Up with A Fae, The Blonde Identity), some where I obviously wasn’t the target audience (Lotus Crystal) but there was one I found a complete slog and, more than that, it was a disappointing slog. I even had the next book in the series ready to go! Absolutely gutted that The Pillars of the Earth was not for me, I found all the characters fairly unlikeable and/or boring and there wasn’t nearly enough cathedral building parts for me.
Reading Updates
I was actually really good this month, I only bought four books this month (and two were Amazon Free Monthly Picks with Prime) and I read seventeen books I owned. My TBR went down to +57 and hopefully the trend continues! Unfortunately my ARC reading isn’t going nearly so well, and I have been approved for another two, so I definitely need to get on that! I also did Asian Readathon which was very fun, especially with how the prompts were centred around Kpop Demon Hunters songs. How did your May go?
