New Children’s Christmas Book Post from Simon & Schuster – The Strawberry Post

Today I’m excited to share with you another children’s book I’ve received, this time from Simon & Schuster and a big thank you to Laura for a copy of this which is a children’s middle grade festive read and is published now! 🙂  I always love Christmas stories, especially children’s ones as they are so exciting and end up being very Christmassy, but this one is a mystery and has a brilliant sounding cast of characters (more on that at the end of the post), so let’s find out what came in the post…

Children’s book for middle grade readers

The Merry Christmas Murders by Alexandra Benedict – Why were Mr Browning and Ms Jacinth so keen for the party to go ahead?  Especially when two people had died via mince pies.  Could there be a deeper, darker reason?  Why would they want to win the cup so badly?  And, if one of them was the killer, would they strike again?
When Brooke Parkin starts at a new school, little does she expect to be faced with murder on her very first day.  Then one body turns into two and Brooke and her friends must now turn detective…

Above is the blurb that’s on the back of the book, but the press release has some added information about the fact that the kids in this story all are neurodivergent including characters who are autistic, dyslexic, have dyscalculia and ADHD.  This makes it sound so good and I love a book with representation of neurodivergence and disabilities so I’m excited to find out what happens.  A review will be coming on the blog soon, in the meantime let me know what Christmas books you recommend or would like to read this year. 🙂
