Song by Tauren Wells and Elevation Worship
The scripture “weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning” came to me in the middle of a fast last month. I recalled a time earlier in the year where I was heavily studying my bible and one day just wept. I didn’t cry, I was weeping. It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before. I felt it was a grieving of missed opportunites, but most importantly a grieving of the old me.
I was then reminded of the scripture Jesus wept. In one moment He, in His humanity wept over Martha and Mary’s pain, and the death of Lazarus,. But in the very next moment he resurrected Lazarus!
I felt joy right after my pain because I realized I had to get to that place that caused me to weep to be as close to God as I felt in that moment. Not to mention, God can resurrect any situation.
Shortly after, I recognized the song Joy in the Morning in my playlist and stopped to listen to it. I loved how Tiffany Hudson took this song half way through and just made it my mantra over the last few weeks.
