I don’t think I’ve ever seen a episode of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
Now, the most I know is that it’s a group of truly awful people and they just did a crossover event with Abbott Elementary, which I have seen. But a quick jump on YouTube will show many collections of Charlie Kelly, played by Charlie Day, talking about ‘bird law.’
It’s either raucously unhinged, and only slightly connected to actual legal doctrine in the United States sometimes.
Apparently, there are actual bird laws.
It’s also just about the weirdest name for a beer, to see Do You Even Practice Bird Law? (Brown Ale, 6.5% ABV) on a screen on the plentiful self-pour tap wall at Oak & Stone in Naples.
For a brown ale, it’s a little bit lighter, not quite as nutty as much as it is more red or amber. The aroma is definitely there, with a nice toasted walnut and pecan aspect.
The flavors is a bit on the hoppy side, with an earthy, maybe slightly fruity, hop bitterness that is paired with nice roasted mixed nut flavors. It has the feeling of taking an unsalted roasted nut mix and combining them with some slightly hoppy mixed fruit in some sort of beer lover’s trail mix.
How much of this has to do with avian litigation remains to be seen. But the beer is good, I sure do enjoy a brown ale every now and again, and it is nice to grab some Casselberry beer, even though I have yet to fly there myself.
And now I know the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918 is a thing.
