Rosenstadt Brewery, a Portland, Oregon based brand known for their traditional German-style ales and lagers, is opening their first ever taproom just in time for their 10th anniversary. Previously contract brewing their beers like Pilsner, Kolsch, Helles, and Dunkel, Rosenstadt started as draft-only and then began bottling in 2020 during the pandemic shutdown, then pivoted again to 16oz cans available in grocery stores and bottleshops around the region.
Rosenstadt was founded by friends Tobias Hahn and Nick Greiner in 2015. Hahn is a German expat hailing from Freiburg, and a Ph.D. microbiologist by trade. Nick Greiner has a hospitality and retail marketing background, and his wife is German. Hahn and Greiner met taking their children to German language classes, and found they had much in common, including beer.
