Today we’re making a creamy avocado and banana puree with the juice of one clementine for baby. Right now, things are a little more relaxed in the kitchen… because I simply think it’s great to have very easy, tasty, and nutritious recipes on hand. That’s what matters most for our babies!
No cooking needed here: all you need is an avocado, a banana, and a clementine. A blender is also essential so you can blend all the fruit very finely and get a beautifully smooth cream with a lovely texture.
Avocado provides enough healthy fat that you don’t need to add any more to baby’s other meals during the day. It contains unsaturated fatty acids that are very beneficial for health! It is rich in fiber and can help effectively with baby constipation.
In this cream, banana brings the little touch of sweetness that avocado does not have. Banana is rich in fiber, protein, iron, minerals… in short, it is excellent overall for baby’s little body.
Finally, clementine, this sweet and slightly tangy little citrus fruit, adds the bright kick this cream needs! I used the juice of one clementine. Feel free to adjust the amount and add a little more juice at the last minute 😉 Clementines are packed with vitamin C, perfect for giving baby plenty of energy. They are also ideal for supporting the immune system. Perfect, since this is the season when little viral illnesses come back (boo!).
Here is what you need to make this creamy avocado, banana, and clementine puree for baby (from 6 months, makes about 7 oz / 200 g of cream):
Ingredients
Preparation

We start with the clementine juice. Cut the clementine in half, then do exactly as you would with other citrus fruits such as an orange or a lemon: squeeze firmly to get as much juice as possible.

I got 2 Tbsp + 2 tsp of juice (40 ml) from 1 clementine.

Pour the juice into the blender.
Next, peel the banana and cut about 1/2 cup (60 g) into pieces.

Add the banana pieces to the blender.
Finally, scoop out the avocado with a spoon and cut about 2/3 cup (95 g) into pieces.

Add the avocado pieces to the blender.
Now blend the fruit for a good while, until you get a very smooth cream.

Our recipe is now ready. The puree can be kept in the refrigerator, and the clementine juice will add that bright kick I mentioned, while also helping prevent the cream from turning brown! Yes, avocado and banana oxidize very quickly once opened 😉 In any case, it’s hard to resist giving this avocado, banana, and clementine cream to baby right away 🙂
The puree is beautifully smooth and creamy, a little spoonful of sweetness that baby is unlikely to refuse.
Our creamy avocado, banana, and clementine puree recipe for baby (from 6 months) is now ready, and baby can enjoy it!
Enjoy your meal, baby!
