I’ve sworn off trying new smashburger-style restaurants, but Smash Bros Burgers and Shakes caught my attention for one reason: beef tallow. Actually, they said Wagyu beef tallow—now we’re talking.

There are four burgers on the menu, but my focus was on the OG Smash—a 100% grass-fed beef patty with American cheese, pickles, sautéed onions, and their signature Smash Sauce.
Other options include:
- The Luther Burger – I skipped this one, but based on the name and its “Krispy” spelling, I’m guessing it’s made with Krispy Kreme donuts as the bun.
- The Classic – Features lettuce, tomato, onions, ketchup, and mustard, a combination you don’t often see at Smashburger joints.
For sides and desserts, they offer chocolate and vanilla shakes, a root beer float, and their Wagyu beef tallow fries, which were my main reason for stopping by.
My Order: The OG Smash & Wagyu Beef Tallow Fries

It’s not mentioned on the menu, but I always order doubles. My Double OG Smash was solid—no complaints—but it didn’t stand out in the crowded world of Smashburgers.
What did surprise me was the Truffle Wagyu Burger—a Wagyu beef patty topped with truffle mayo, caramelized onions, and American cheese. I’m not a huge truffle fan, but I genuinely enjoyed this one. They also nailed the crispy sear on the burger, which some wannabe Smashburger spots fail to achieve.

The Real MVP: Wagyu Beef Tallow Fries

Now, let’s talk about the real reason to visit Smash Bros Burgers & Shakes—their fresh-cut Wagyu beef tallow fries. Just salted and fried in beef tallow, these were perfect. I rarely say this about fries, but these are a must-order.
The Parking Struggle Near Wynwood
The only downside to my visit? Parking. Even though Smash Bros is less than ten minutes from Wynwood where parking nightmares thrive, the parking situation here is a nightmare. A bunch of conflicting signs warn about towing, and it feels like some gang turf war over where you can or can’t park.
When I asked the guy at the Smash Bros counter where I could park, he responded, “Anywhere that says you won’t get towed.” Super helpful.
So, I did what any hungry person would do: I ate my burger in my car. I ordered my food, snapped a few pics, and enjoyed my meal without worrying about getting towed. I suggest you do the same.
Final Thoughts
If you’re into smashburgers, Wagyu beef, and perfectly crispy fries fried in beef tallow, Smash Bros Burgers and Shakes is worth a stop. Just be prepared for the parking headache—or better yet, bring someone with you to wait in the car.
