Cael’s Gate Petra Stella Shiraz 2025 Review
This wine is from Cael’s Gate and is a different expression of shiraz from Mudgee and the 2025 vintage, compared with the 2025 vintage of their shiraz here. Tasted before labelling and 15 months along its journey ageing in French oak, this wine is to become their “Petra Stella” flagship wine. The colour is a little lighter due to its time in oak, and a further 6 months of ageing is planned before release. The wine has integrating and attractive aromas of dark fruits, cedar, green wood and cloves. The palate is full bodied, intense and ripe. Time in the glass provides a good insight into the future of this wine. It brings the wine together with fresh characters of spice, clove and dark, ripe plums.
