🚨 Special Live Update: Lachen is closed for the tourists. The Chungthang–Lachen road remains blocked near Taram Chu due to a major washout. Lachung is open for tourists, but Lachen and Gurudongmar Lake are currently closed to tourists. The alternate Donkia La diversion is operational only for authorized vehicles and is not open to tourists.

  • Lachung is open for Tourists.
  • Lachen is closed for tourists as the direct road from Chungthang remains blocked near Taram Chu Bridge
  • Donkia La diversion is a special alternate route now being used to reach Lachen from Chungthang via Lachung but tourists are not allowed
  • Gurudongmar Lake is closed for the tourists
  • Keep 1 buffer day in all North Sikkim itineraries
  • Permits are mandatory and self-drive is not allowed
