350 Seats Available for BC Students in Telangana

The Backward Classes Welfare Department of the Government of Telangana has announced the opening of registrations for the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Overseas Vidya Nidhi Scheme for the August/September 2026 Fall session. The registration window will remain open from 01.09.2026 to 30.09.2026, providing eligible students an opportunity to pursue higher education abroad with financial support from the state government.

Under this scheme, a total of 350 students will be selected for the upcoming academic session. The allocation includes 250 seats for BC category students and 100 seats for EBC category students. The scheme targets students who are pursuing or intending to pursue postgraduate or PhD courses in foreign universities, offering them a pathway to quality international education.

To qualify for the scheme, applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria. The overall family annual income from all sources should be less than Rs. 5.00 lakh. Additionally, the age of the applicant should not exceed 35 years as on the date of application. These income and age restrictions ensure that the scheme benefits students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who demonstrate academic potential.

Academic performance requirements are clearly defined for prospective applicants. Students must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in their graduation. Furthermore, applicants need to present valid scores in standardized tests, including a GRE score of 260 or GMAT score of 500. English language proficiency is also mandatory, with acceptable scores being TOEFL 60, IELTS 6.0, or PTE 50.

Interested candidates can complete their registration through the official portal at http://www.telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in. The website contains comprehensive details about the scheme, application procedures, and documentation requirements. Students are advised to visit the portal for complete information and to ensure their applications are submitted within the specified timeframe.

The press note was issued by B. Bala Maya Devi, Commissioner of BC Welfare, on behalf of the Backward Classes Welfare Department. All additional details regarding the scheme and the registration process are available on the official e-pass portal of the Telangana government.
