The other day I overheard someone saying that ‘repeating the same thing over and over again looking for a different outcome is the definition of madness’.
I’m not sure what that says about our house but I’ll just leave this here – a conversation ‘The Wife’ has just had with ‘Squeak’. it’s not the first one like this and I doubt it’ll be the last!
Squeak: ‘I want to go on a walk’
The Wife: ‘I know you do but it’s raining’
Squeak: ‘No it isn’t, I go on a walk now?
The Wife: ‘No, it’s raining’
Squeak: ‘But I want to go on a walk’
The Wife: ‘I know you do and when it’s stops we’ll go out’
Squeak: ‘Where?’
The Wife: ‘To see the horses’
Squeak: ‘When?’
The Wife: ‘When it stops raining’
Squeak: ‘Where?’
The Wife: ‘I’ve just told you, when it stops raining we’ll go and see the horses’
TEN SECONDS PAUSE
Squeak: ‘Stopped raining now’
The Wife: ‘No it hasn’t’
Squeak: ‘Why?’
The Wife: ‘I don’t know’
Squeak: ‘Not raining now.. we go for walk now’
The Wife: ‘No it’s still raining’
Squeak: ‘I want to go on a walk’
‘The Wife’ ‘And we will when it stops raining’
Squeak: ‘Where?’
The Wife: ‘Where what?’
Squeak: ‘Where you going?’
The Wife’ ‘I’m not going anywhere’
Squeak: ‘Where you go on walk?’
The Wife: ‘Nowhere it’s still raining’
TWENTY SECONDS PAUSE
Squeak: ‘We go for a walk?’
