Like many families, navigating conversations with their children about the recent Central Texas floods and the horrific aftermath is heartbreaking and intense. The news has been nearly constant, and with the news coming so close to home, it’s good to have tools in your parenting toolbox.
Children’s Health Has Been Serving for 110 Years
Offering health, wellness, cutting-edge treatments, and behavioral services for the last 110 years, Children’s Health was founded by Nurse May Smith in Dallas. Back in 1913, it was Dallas Baby Camp at the corner of what is now Maple and Oak Lawn. Fast forward to now, with the Dallas area pediatric population rapidly growing, Children’s Health Center now occupies several campuses and joint partnerships, including an upcoming one with UT Southwestern. This new partnership will expand the modern hub to include intensive research, education and innovation right here in the heart of Texas.
Meeting a Current Need
In the aftermath of the recent tragedies and environmental disasters, one of the largest health organizations focusing on kids in Texas is stepping up to meet a current need. Thanks to generous benefactors and a strong local support network Children’s Health is offering no‑cost behavioral health consultations for families.
