Lake City’s Halpatter’s, formerly Halpatter Brewing Company, talks about changes and their last call coming August 15th.
From Halpatter’s:
There are some posts you never quite know how to write, and this is one of them.
After so many incredible years as Halpatter Brewing Company, and then one year as Halpatter’s, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to close. Our final day will be Saturday, August 15th. We will be offering discounts all next week, modified hours, and a “Final Pour” party on August 15th with live music. More details about that in a separate post.
There is so much we want to say about how we got here, what this place has meant to us, and what comes next. We took over the company a year ago with so much hope and optimism – and in that time, we accomplished so much. We brought offered more spirits and cocktails, added new beers, renovated Garage Bar, added plants into the taproom, expanded the menu, added brunch, put domestic beer on draft, added TVs, and so much more. You came through our doors, sat at our bar, drank our beer, tried our spirits, ate our food, played trivia, listened to music, celebrated birthdays and anniversaries, brought your families (including your pets), made friends, and made memories here. There are faces we know, orders we know, and people we will miss so deeply – especially the regulars who we always welcomed in, even when we were closed, those who jumped behind the bar to clean dishes when the bartenders were slammed, those who helped us paint, decorate, and renovate, those who brought us fun beers from their travels, and those who showed up week after week, day after day. You know who you are, and we LOVE you.
Running a small business is incredibly hard. There have been beautiful seasons and difficult ones, moments when we felt like we could take on the world and moments when we weren’t sure how we would make it through the week. But through all of it, this community continued to remind us why we said “yes” when given the chance to operate Halpatter’s a year ago. To every single person who chose to spend even an evening with us when you could have gone anywhere else: thank you. You made everything possible. Your support allowed us to build something that was so much more than a business. We created a family. You allowed us to be part of a community that we love deeply, and that is something we will carry with us long after the doors close.
As for our future, we are still hard at work to find a new location. The moment we know more, we will share with the community. Trust us when we say this: we did everything we could to stay here in Lake City. Lake City was always our first choice.
We hope you’ll come see us before the end. Have one more drink with us, sit at the bar one more time, tell us your favorite memory, hug the people behind the bar, and then stay for another round. From the very bottom of our hearts, thank you for showing up. Thank you for supporting us. Thank you for believing in us.
Whatever comes next, a piece of our hearts will always belong here. We love Lake City, Halpatter’s, and mostly, we love you all so much.
With more love and gratitude than we could ever fit into one post,
Amber, Jer, and Casey
